"A friend of mine invited me to sponsor a child several years ago. I agreed and requested a girl as I do not have a daughter of my own - I have a son. We received a profile for Agatha and sponsoring felt so great. She felt like a part of our family. We decided to sponsor another child and this time we requested a boy. We have been sponsoring Michael and Agatha ever since. We receive letters from the children and they're touching. We began to feel a strongl link with Uganda through the children's letters. We finally traveled to Uganda and met the children. The experience was so wonderful. We truly feel that what we are doing is something very good for the world. We also met Rhita - the sponsorship coordinator in Uganda. She was such a kind person. Being connected to Children of Uganda and the children we sponsor has really made a world much bigger. Uganda is an amazing place and we look forward to going back one day."

"I became a sponsor after seeing the Children of Uganda dance troupe at my church. I'm one of 21 children and I've been poor most of my life. However, I have never gone without or missed a thing in my life. These children truly know what it means to go without. Yet, they are so grateful and so humble. They just want to be loved. Daisy is the second child I have sponsored through Children of Uganda. Sponsoring has given me an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these children who have experienced loss en masse. I want to Daisy one day and let know that I don't think of her as a 'charity case' - I think of her as my daughter. I also want her to know what this experience has meant to me - the chance to leave a legacy in Uganda in the hopes that when she grows up - she will want to give back and make a difference."

"We became involved through a good friend of ours who was sponsoring a little girl. We had the opportunity to meet some of the children here in the United States and we just became hooked. We began sponsoring Justine shortly thereafter and the experience has been so wonderful. We write to her nearly every month and the letters we get from her are so charming and so sweet. We also get her grade reports and were so excited to see that she passed an exam that enables her to go on to the next grade level. When you hear the stories about these children - you realize how much you have and where you are born - how much of a difference it makes in your life. We are so happy to know that we are helping to make a difference in the life of a child."
